January has all rights to be the longest month of the year, and it was especially so this new year with all six weeks that we had to tick a January date off the calendar.

On the bright side, there were a ton of things going on in the entertainment industry. The movies were a vibe too and here are some of the movies that got people talking in January 2022.

The sequel to this blockbuster was released in January and it definitely got a lot of conversations going on. A ton of the comments were critiqued, but this didn’t stop people from going online to see for themselves. If you haven’t seen this movie for yourself and think the comments are a bit over the top, then you can chill with popcorn in hand and have a go at

Dinner at my place


This romantic comedy has had people excited since the release of some teaser clips towards the end of last year. With its beautiful cast of brilliant actors, it has climbed up to a favourite feel-good movie for people. You should check it out and get into the laughs also.

Although it’s been nearly two years since its first release, this movie came on Netflix in January. It has so far done a brilliant job of starting conversations regarding mental health and other sensitive issues people typically avoid. Checking it out is a must.

Over her dead body

This falls under the category of simple movies with a predictable story line, however, the actors that were cast in the movie did a brilliant job of bringing the script to life. You can add it to your weekend movie list with your loved ones, as it’s guaranteed to keep the attention of an African mother.
