Afro-fusion singer songwriter Tomilola is ready to share ‘Let Go’, her vibrant new single, in time for the summer. ‘Let Go’ is an honest look at this young artist’s mindset as she shares her fears and lets them go, an act of catharsis in the form of warm RnB and soul elements, filtered through the unique afro-fusion sensibilities of Tomilola and her producers, The Cavemen.
‘Let Go’ is inspired by Tomilola’s decision to move back home for a year and focus solely on music, a move which came with the pressure of trying to make everything happen at once. Through what could only be described as divine intervention, a conversation with a friend assured her that everything would be alright and she heard the beat not long after. The song carries the sound of her burdens being cast away as her vocals soar over The Cavemen’s lively production. Kingsley Okorie of The Cavemen contributes backing vocals as he sings “relax” in Igbo, contributing to the theme of being calm and remaining present.
In a time when many people are dealing with uncertainty, anxiety, and stress, music has the power to uplift, soothe, and heal. ‘Let Go’ is a simple yet poignant reminder that it’s okay to let your worries go and take a deep breath. Tomilola’s music draws strongly from experiences in her life and the lives of those around her, and The Cavemen have given her a rich palette in which her talents can shine. With more music on the way, ‘Let Go’ shows that she has a renewed focus and clear mind as she faces the future.
‘Let Go’ is available on all streaming platforms and Tomilola’s social media links can be found below.
