The title of this project is called “F.O.B.”, which stands for Fresh Off The Boat. Maradona wishes to share his journey with the world on how he moved from Nigeria to America all on his own. Generally, when a person says to an African who has recently immigrated to a developed country, that they “look”, “sound”, or “behave” as if they’re “fresh off the boat”. it’s typically meant as a derogatory comment,
However, Maradona wants to change the sense of that term by transforming it into an honour. He wants to walk us through a chapter of his life through his music. Maradona built a new life for himself from scratch, and in these songs, he’s communicating with us on how he had no other choice but to grind and hustle, evidently, with still a long way to go because the grind never stops. In short, this project contains themes of struggles, love, party, rave, fashion, and lifestyle.
This project is intended to be a twin project accompanied with “I..G.B.
F.O.B. (Fresh off the boat) and I.J.G.B. I just got back.
