Slow Zeus Is Candid On ‘Sunday Sermon’

After teasing fans with a new project on Instagram, Nigerian rapper, Slow Zeus has released his fourth body of work, Sunday Sermon on all streaming platforms.

The four-track EP fuses Hip-Hop and Trap with sweet-sounding melodies and hooks. The project addresses themes of hardship, religion, and freedom.

The first song on the project, Grace, opens with a pastor’s sermon reinforced by slow warm keys and followed by the vocals of a choir. Slow Zeus enters, delivering a melodic rap that emphasises the relationship between hard work, purpose, and grace. Preach is a trap number that will motivate you to work hard and be successful. In his smooth voice, Slow Zeus addresses the everyday struggle for a better life.

On Mama’s Couch, Slow Zeus tells you what living with an average Nigerian parent feels like. He joins forces with Sknny who narrates his experiences pursuing the music while in his mother’s house. Closing the project is Celebrate which talks about seizing the opportunity to have a great time. In this mid-tempo track, Slow Zeus recognizes that life is short and he is ready to party like there’s no tomorrow.

Since his debut in 2016, Slow Zeus has continuously shown that he is here to stay. Sunday Sermon gives us a peek into the talent that Slow Zeus has shown over the years.
