Rising African Afropop sensation, Victony—released his highly anticipated debut album, titled ‘Stubborn.’
Known far and wide on the global stage for his crossover hit, ‘Soweto’ ft. Don Toliver and Rema, ‘Stubborn’ heralds an evolutionary era in Victony’s musical journey as he joins forces with multiple artists including Teezo Touchdown, Asake, Saint Jhn, Shallipopi and more to create a phenomenal album experience that transcends genres and truly dimensionalizes the full scope of African music on the global stage.
Victony’s loyal fan vase eagerly awaited the LP after the runaway success of the single, ‘Stubborn’, featuring Asake. Above all, ‘Stubborn’, the album is a lyrical illustration of Victony’s resilient return to music, following the three-year anniversary of the near-fatal accident, that claimed the life of his best friend and put Victony at the crossroads of extensive surgery and rehab, in order to re-learn how to walk.
On the album, Victony stated, “The meaning of ‘Stubborn’ goes beyond what the title implies. This album is a true representation of my story and everything I’ve had to overcome for the past few years. It’s not about just reflecting on the trials and tribulations that you inevitably face, but also relishing in the abundance that life has to offer and authentically staying true to who you are despite what anyone has to say. I’m excited for my fans to hear what I’ve been working on for years, as well as the masterful production and artist features that went into making this album.”
