Spotlight Monday – SLTY
The role of a stylist is deeper than just providing the clothes that an individual will wear for an occasion or a photo shoot. It is way deeper than that. SLTY, also known as Bamidele, is one of the stylists in Nigeria playing an important role in achieving the desired look of his clients and bringing imaginative ideas to life.
Over the years, SLTY has styled numerous public figures, celebrities, brands, and magazines. One of them is the styling of rising star, Ayo Maff, for the cover of Orange Magazine by The 49th Street. In this cover, SALTY did justice to putting together pieces that showed the uniqueness of Ayo Maff’s figure and also stuck to the theme of his sound and being the “prince of street music.”
SLTY also styled Blaqbonez for Notjustok, for the “reinvention” issue. He also styled Logan for Turntable Chart December 2021 volume 002. In addition to his artist clientele, SLTY has also styled other artists such as Shallipopi, Ruger, Minz, Fola, TML Vibez, Amaeya for her “Too Much” music video, Fireboy DML, and Ric Hassani.
SLTY’s work also expands beyond styling artists alone, but also dives into brand image, having worked with Google, Boohoo Man fashion brand, Smirnoff “We Do We” commercial, Nestle, Martina, amongst many others.
With his job as a distinct stylist in the world of fashion, SLTY has been heavily involved in Fashion Weeks, from GT Bank Fashion Week, the Lagos Leather Fair, and many more.
