Nigerian Travel Creator Alma Asinobi Aims to Shatter Guinness Record: 7 Continents in 70 Hours

Travel and lifestyle content creator Alma Asinobi is chasing a Guinness World Record by visiting all seven continents in under 70 hours—a bold bid to surpass the current 73-hour record held by Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Dr. Ali Irani.

The 26-year-old Nigerian adventurer, the youngest and only Black solo traveler to attempt this feat, will kick off her journey in Antarctica on March 15th. Her strategic route will span North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

“This attempt is about more than just breaking a record,” Alma emphasizes. “It’s about showing what is possible for young African women and anyone with a low-mobility passport… I don’t want my dreams or adventures to be determined by the color of my skin or color of my passport.”

Known for her travel and lifestyle content, as well as her advocacy around low-mobility passport challenges, Alma blends storytelling and visuals to make international travel more accessible. Her attempt has drawn support from brands like Risevest, whose Global CMO Eneyi Obi described it as an inspiration to underrepresented travelers worldwide.

With over 200,000 social media followers, Alma has partnered with Sony, Mastercard, and Spotify, and delivered TEDx Talks. Her accolades include a 2022 Pulse Influencer Award nomination and a spot on List NG’s 2024 Top 100 Influential Nigerians, recognized by outlets like BellaNaija for advancing women’s opportunities.
