In Nigeria’s entertainment scene, you discover brilliant talents, from artists to actors, actresses, creatives, and more. There are a whole lot of talents in the sea. Amongst these talented stars is the fast-rising singer-songwriter Braye, blowing our minds away with his melodies and fresh energy on the mic and our speakers.
The Port Harcourt-born singer has always known music was his calling, and having this drive in him built a firm foundation for his musical journey, from learning an instrument on the internet to understanding the dynamic of music making and even building up his musical style through his early taste in music he heard as a growing kid, from his home and environment, all of which ended up making him stand firm in pursuing his musical journey.

As his rise steadily grew, his fame steadily grew. The early beginning was not so smooth as chasing his dreams; from his father’s disapproval of his decision to pursue music as a career to moving around and constant nights of sleeping in his friend’s car, it was not so smooth. Still, Braye prevailed over these obstacles that could have drowned him, just like a diamond in the rough and a rose in the concrete, all of which describe his dedication and resilience under pressure and obstacles.
Braye’s discography is a mind-blowing piece of art, from the reggae aromatic Painless Melody about good energy to the soul-touching Bossa Nova, a track about spending time with his lover, from being her DJ and she being his muse, all of which led to his just-released debut EP titled I Wish I Had More Time, a beautiful body of work consisting of four tracks that conveyed his emotion, story, with his influence from the greats Bob Marley, Ray Charles, Amy Winehouse and more, we can truly hear it all in each track, while he stayed authentic to core.

With his new EP out, he has really added a new collection to the shelf of outstanding records from Nigeria. Given the strong calling he felt years back, the calling that he was destined to make music, and him taking it serious, he will be one of the greats from Nigeria and Africa.
