Manchester City have signed Algerian full-back Rayan Alt-Nouri on a permanent deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported £31m fee.
The marauding fullback has put pen to paper over a five-year contract with The Cityzens. The Algerian international had been on the radar of a couple of big European Clubs following a stellar 2024/2025 season with Wolves. With four goals and seven assists, no defender in the Premier League registered more goal involvement than him. Man City ultimately won the battle for his highly coveted signature at a bargain price, and the Mancunian club registered him in time to represent them in the group stages of the Club World Cup.
Technically brilliant, versatile, and blessed with a stinging left foot, Alt-Nouri is a marquee signing for Guardiola’s side. The defender has expressed his delight at signing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, a massive upgrade from Wolves. The 24-year-old becomes the fourth Algerian to represent Manchester City in the Premier League after Djamel Belmadi, Ali Benarbia, and Riyad Mahrez, with Mahrez enjoying a memorable spell at the Etihad Stadium.
Signed from Angers in 2020, the France-born full-back has established himself as one of the finest full-backs in the EPL. At 24, he still has much-untapped potential and will only get better.
