FC Robo Queens is a Nigerian Women’s Premier League Club based in Mushin, Lagos. Established by Osahon Emmanuel Orobosa in 1999 primarily as a football academy for boys, his decision to expand it to accommodate girls has brought him immeasurable rewards. Over the years, it has served as a developmental hub and training facility for Nigerian girls and boys, with its female graduates thrusting the academy into the spotlight. The academy is dedicated to nurturing excellent talent within its walls and shaping Nigeria’s footballing future.
Asisat Oshoala’s exploits internationally and on European stages thrust the academy into the limelight, and it has since produced another icon of Nigerian football, Rasheedat Ajibade. Over the years, the academy has served as the backbone for The Flamingoes, Falconets, and Super Falcons, churning out generational talents for the National teams. Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Shukurat Oladipo, all FC Robo Queens, played prominent roles in Nigeria’s latest continental triumph. Three-time WAFCON winner Esther Sunday gets a noteworthy mention as a proud academy graduate. Simply put, FC Robo is the gift that keeps giving for the Nigerian national teams.

She made a cameo appearance in the quarter finals and finals, sitting out the entirety of the semifinals. Her impact off the pitch was vital to the team’s success as she motivated and guided the team members. A veteran of the game, her experience was invaluable to the younger, less-experienced players. Her joy in celebrating and encouraging the players from her bench role was beautiful.
FC Robo’s pride and the most outstanding product of the academy, Asisat, spent her early teenage years with FC Robo, honing and developing her skills. Four years later, she announced her name to the world in grand style. The rest is history, from the Rivers Angels to Liverpool, Arsenal, and FC Barcelona. FOLASHADE IJAMILUSI
Folashade Ijamilusi was a shining light on and off the pitch for the Super Falcons at WAFCON 2024, making her maiden appearance for Nigeria in a major tournament. She notched her first goal at the tournament in Nigeria’s ruthless thrashing of Zambia in the quarter finals. She fought her way into the starting line-up in the knockout stages, having been used sparingly in the opening group fixtures.
The 24-year-old forward saved her best performances for last, turning up the tempo when it mattered most in the later stages of the continental conquest. Her superb performance in the final helped the Nigerian team complete a legendary comeback and turned Mission X from Mission Impossible to a success. She won the penalty kick that started Nigeria’s dramatic comeback, and drew the Super Falcons level in the 71st minute with a calmly taken goal.
A product of Springsoca Academy, Ijamilusi was a sought-after talent in her younger years, and FC Robo Queens won the battle for her signature. Nicknamed Ijagoal or Osiwoman for her deadly goalscoring abilities and trademark hairstyle like Victor Osimhen’s, she honed her skills further with FC Robo in the NWPL.
