LOVE IN THE BOULEVARD WITH JOEBOY: A NIGHT FOR REAL LOVERS

By Aderinola Omotosho

On October 26, Love in the Boulevard took over Praia Lagos in Victoria Island, and the vibe was exactly what the name promised: love, good music, and a crowd that came to have a beautiful time. The night had that perfect Lagos mix of class and chaos — soft lighting, dressed-up people, and just enough energy to keep you on your feet till late.

Lagos never runs out of events, but every now and then, something different pops up, something that’s less about noise and more about feeling. Love in the Boulevard is exactly that. It’s a night designed for people who love love, the kind of event where you walk in and instantly know the energy is different. No wild chaos, no overcrowded space, just good music, soft lights, and people who came ready to have a beautiful time.

Joeboy was the special guest for this edition, and honestly, he owned the night. His performance felt easy and smooth. He performed Baby, Focus, Adenuga, and more. And the crowd sang every word like it was their personal love story. There was this unspoken connection between him and the audience, characterised by smiles, swaying shoulders, and people recording with the biggest grins on their faces.

Watching him perform felt like watching someone in their element. Joeboy’s voice has this warmth that hits different live. The crowd swayed, and there was this shared moment where everyone seemed to just feel the music.

But Love in the Boulevard isn’t just about whoever’s performing. It’s about the entire experience. Between sets, the DJs kept the energy flowing with R&B and a bit of soul. Couples danced, strangers laughed like old friends, and everywhere you turned, someone was taking a photo or filming a memory. The attention to detail was clear in the ambience, the décor.

What makes Love in the Boulevard special is that it’s not trying too hard. It’s romantic, yes, but not in a cliché way. It’s chill, intimate, and real. It is a reminder that nightlife doesn’t always have to be wild to be unforgettable. You could come alone and still leave feeling like you were part of something.

There was no rush, just good music, soft lights, and people who showed up to feel something real. Love in the Boulevard did exactly what its name promised, and if every night in Lagos felt like that, maybe the city wouldn’t feel so chaotic after all.

49th

As for what’s next, Love in the Boulevard isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The team is already taking the magic on the road. The next stop: Ibadan. The Premier City edition is set to hold at The Patio, Basorun Road, on November 29th, from 7 PM till 3 AM. So, if you missed the last one, this might just be your chance to experience the energy, the music, and maybe even a little bit of love for yourself.
