Recording artist Dera has officially released his highly anticipated debut EP, Deragon, via Black Diamond. The project compiles his recent hit singles, Sade, Any Other Day, and Saroje alongside fresh tracks that showcase his smooth melodies and artistic range.
With this release, Dera invites audiences to step into a sonic world he has meticulously crafted. As he explains, “This project is more than just songs, but a way of introducing myself fully into the [music] industry while laying a strong foundation for the great things ahead.”
The title Deragon is a fusion of Dera and Dragon, symbolizing a balance of confidence, patience, and resilience. Dera draws inspiration from the duality of the mythical creature, representing both fire-breathing power and calm, benevolent wisdom. He has also adopted the name Deragon for his growing community of fans.

The EP boasts a diverse roster of production talent, including Shabba (Sade), Chokeboi (Saroje, Police), NYRP (Aquafina), and GRAMMY®-Award winner KrazyTunez (Any Other Day, Kala, On Daily).
Reflecting on the creative process, Dera notes, “Working with multiple producers on this EP was a blessing. Each of them brought their own flavor and energy, which helped shape the sound in a very unique way. I love collaborations, and this project really showed me how powerful it can be when creative minds connect.”
Deragon also features notable collaborations, including Sammie Cash on Kala and Jeriq on the Amapiano-infused track On Daily.
“Working with Sammie Cash was all about that alte, smooth, calm bounce with sprinkles of Afropop flavor. He’s one of those rappers that understands melody and rhythm, so the connection was natural,” says Dera. “While working with Jeriq was pure energy from start to finish. He’s got this raw, real sound that speaks to the streets, and I respect that. Bringing our worlds together on one track felt special, two different stories, same hustle spirit. Big love to Jeriq.”
KrazyTunez, a key collaborator on the project, adds, “Working with Dera on most of the songs just felt natural. We vibe easily and the creative flow is always effortless.”
