Nigerian singer-songwriter Phaemous is set to release his debut EP titled PHÆWAY Vol. 1 in March, following the release of his R&B single ‘Violet’, a song inspired by toxic relationships on which he features his label mate ‘Drayko’ in February which has enjoyed a warm reception in the Nigerian music scene. On this unique project, he explores his Gemini ego with a touch of Greek mythology, which symbolizes the spiritual connection he has with his music.
All feels and rhythms, PHÆWAY Vol. 1 is a 7-track EP, featuring some fast rising artistes from Nigeria —including Eeskay, Drayko, and Psycho YP on three different tracks. On the intro titled ‘Running’, he serves a R&B song infused with melodic chants, expressing how his love interest makes him feel. He follows with ‘Violet’, a heartbreak song inspired by his personal toxic relationship stories and that of others as well. He slows it down with ‘Endorphins’, a sensual song on which he sings about intimate moments with his muse. He features rapper Psycho YP on ‘Island Pink’ and on ‘Below’, he works with Eeskay. ‘Forbidden’ is easily and ear worm drawing inspiration from Eve and her apple. He closes the EP with ‘Wise (Over)’, singing about how he knows better than to stay in a relationship that is not worth it.
