[ARTIST SPOTLIGHT]: Alien Lamba & Hybrid Sosa

Drill music may have originated in the South Side of Chicago, USA but it has found a home in many other parts of the world, the latest being the streets of Nigeria. More and more young talents have embraced the hard and heavy sounds that define the genre and are beginning to create a niche for themselves in the industry. Two of such artistes making waves in the community of Drill music makers are Alien Lamba and Hybrid Sosa.

Born Aina Bamiyo Paul, Alien Lamba is an entertainer that doubles as a hypeman and a Drill artist. He’s a part of Happy Boiz, a music collective that also features the likes of Morello, Bryan Vibez, Ray Rex and Drae. As a part of the group, Alien Lamba has featured on songs like “Indaboski” and “Coro” that have received largely positive reviews.

Samuel Enenche-John, operating under the moniker of Hybrid Sosa, is a Benue boy that has found a musical home on the streets of Abuja. A frequent co-conspirator with Alien Lamba, he is quickly establishing himself in the growing Drill scene in the country. His discography boasts of “Trap Fever” a project he dropped in May 2019. He also has singles like “Raba” and the Jesse Jagz assisted “Sugarcane Rush” to his name.

On March 26, Alien Lamba and Hybrid Sosa co-released “Drill Capsule”. The collaborative effort, released under the Happy Boiz Music imprint and distributed by CHOCO MILO SQUAD, is an EP with 4 tracks all booming with the unique sounds of Drill Music and one that’s very much worth a listen.
