Born and raised in Abuja Nigeria, Favour Oru also known as Hxppier was born on the 17th of August 2004. Hxppier started her musical journey in Church choir at the age of four where she sang. She fell in love with music during her time in Junior Secondary School, and she started making music covers in 2020 during the pandemic.
This would signal a shift in her journey because, in 2021, one of the covers she made gained attention on social media and she began getting offers to make music. Music for her is a means of telling stories, so she does not restrict herself to a particular genre of music.
Hxppier makes music with the vision of giving people a sense of belonging and community. She wants her listeners to know that they are not alone on the journey called life, and that they’ll make it out okay.
‘Pull Me Closer’ by Hxppier tells the story of time, and how finite it is. It makes us see that time is a borrowed resource, which we should maximize by making memories because we won’t be here forever.
“We’re not gonna live long forever… Soon we won’t be forever” this tells the tale of everyone in the world. We are here for a short time, living on borrowed time.
You would also hear undertones of the tales of lovers, who realize that their time together is almost up, and are toying with the idea of eloping.
