Music lovers have a new body of work to indulge in as Nigerian singer-songwriter, ADEOLUWA has released his sophomore E.P., “while we wait”. The E.P. comes months after the musician released the opening track of the project, “Let Me in Remix” featuring Nigerian singer, Kotrell and Canadian rapper, Oboise to much acclaim.
“while we wait” features remixes of selections from ADEOLUWA’s 2019 debut album “After Bells and Whistles”. The four-song extended play consists of riveting verses from Nigerian singers, Kotrell, BrayneZee, Tomide the Skinny Nerd; Canadian artistes,TOVA and Oboise, and American rapper, Shillz Tex.
Speaking on creating this collaborative collection of sounds during a global pandemic, ADEOLUWA spoke highly of the artists who worked with him and described their work ethic as “inspiring.”
“Everyone who has a verse on this record lives on another side of the world so it was incredibly challenging to put together. However, the dedication and talent it took to make this happen left me in awe of how seriously these artists were about their craft and creating music with a lasting shelf life.”
A kaleidoscope of genres, the E.P. explores R&B, western pop, trap, neo-soul and afrobeats seamlessly. The diversity of the project’s soundscape makes for an exciting and cohesive listen that is reflective of the personas who created it.
