With several recording artists issuing new releases on a daily basis, here is our pick of the best songs from emerging acts to come out of Ghana over the past few weeks.

Moh – Wahala (@MrMoh_Official)

Emerging Ghanaian afro-pop act Mohammed Mouazzen who goes by the stage name

Moh, churns out yet another smooth sentimental bop titled “Wahala”. This quickly follows the superb first impression he made with earlier released “Belinda” which features afrobeat superstar and emPawa Africa’s head honcho, Mr. Eazi. “Wahala” like “Belinda” is produced by go-to record producer Lexyz.

Boy Kay – Allah (@1BoyKay)

Relatively unknown rapper Boy Kay catches the eye with newly “Allah” – a trap-heavy number which touches on the daily struggles of a your typical Ghanaian youth in the midst of bad governance, amongst other societal mishappenings. The highly infectious anthem was produced by Kaynie, with complementary visuals shot and edited by Yaw Phanta.

Copta – 2020 (@TheCopta)

Hot on the heels of the release of his latest album, “Rosso Forever”, Accra native rapper Copta returns with a new single he’s titled “2020”. Produced by a powerhouse production duo of RGG Studios’ Moor Sound and Reezy of Eargasm, the 808 bass-heavy UK drill-styled instrumental sees the wordsmith match up with a high-energy bar-heavy freestyle flow. Kay-T ft Medikal & Okese1 – Obi Ne Yem (@ThisBeKayT)

Multi-talented alternative scene act Kay-T enlists Ghanaian mainstream rap heavyweight Medikal and Okese1 on his latest release titled “Obi Ne Yem”. The highly infectious hip-hop anthem was ably produced by Iyke Parker, the song spots a Grand Theft Auto video game inspired music video directed by Kay-T himself who doubles as a music video director under the moniker KTO.

Ginius – Happy To Be Outside (@Official_Ginius) 

UK-based Ghanaian born producer and singer-songwriter Ginius makes a lasting first impression with self-produced 3-track EP dubbed “Happy To be Outside”, which represents liberation in light of the aftermath of restrictions imposed as a result of the pandemic. The album title track is guaranteed to get you off your feet dancing as it’s rhythmic nature registers the new Ampiano wave of South Africa.
