2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for music enthusiasts, with some of the biggest names in the industry gearing up to bless fans with highly anticipated projects. From Omah Lay’s introspective “Clarity of Mind” to Davido’s heartfelt “5IVE” and the alté king Cruel Santino’s “King of Bounce,” the year promises a variety of sonic experiences. Legends like Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Skepta are poised to make waves while rising stars such as Qing Madi and Shallipopi continue to solidify their presence. With bold themes, thrilling collaborations, and boundary-pushing production, here’s a sneak peek at the albums expected to drop in 2025.
Omah Lay: Clarity of Mind
This stands as one of the most anticipated albums in Nigeria, one that everyone is looking forward to. The much-anticipated album, which will serve as his sophomore album after his debut album “Boy Alone” released in 2022, has been highly anticipated. “Clarity of Mind” may be a possible link to the theme of “Boy Alone.”
In 2024, the album was scheduled for release but was later pushed to 2025, expected in the first quarter of the year. Lead singles off “Clarity of Mind” include “Holy Ghost,” released in late 2023, and “Moving,” released in 2024. No guest features have been revealed, but there is confirmation that Tempoe is heavily involved in the production.
Cruel Santino: King of Bounce
After the release of his critically acclaimed “Subaru Boys: FINAL HEAVEN,” we have not gotten a full body of work, only a few singles, an extended play for the holidays in 2023, and a whole lot of teasers and snippets flooding our social media timeline. We believe this big break from a full-length project is due to the manga production that he is working on, which is deeply connected to his last album, “Subaru Boys: FINAL HEAVEN.” Now that the manga is done, Cruel Santino has declared 2025 the year of the bounce, which will see the alté lord fans eating well. Hopefully, we get “King of Bounce” between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the year.
Qing Madi: The Blueprint
After the successful run of her self-titled EP and many other singles, Qing Madi has had a good run. And what is a better way to keep the fire burning in the new year than releasing her debut album titled “The Blueprint”? The album, which is expected on 31st January 2025, will consist of 13 tracks with lead singles such as “Goosebumps,” “Favourite Psycho,” and “Akanchawa.”
Burna Boy: No Sign of Weakness
In 2024, Burna Boy played with our feelings in different ways by teasing a possible album release and then making fun of fans, thinking it was an album, even though he did not mention anything directly about the album. Which is actually funny because he didn’t. All in all, we got to get the possible album title from all his teasing, which is “No Sign of Weakness,” a project that would come about after the release of “I Told Them.”
No guest features have been confirmed.
Davido: 5IVE
After a successful return album with “Timeless” in 2023, fast forward to two years, the legend is back with a brand new project, which is not far from our hands as he announced it on the 5th of December and described it as an album that is straight from his heart, his truth, his story, and his growth all through his life and phases of his musical career.
“5IVE” is expected to be released on the 14th of March 2025, with guest features such as YG Marley, Chike, and ODUMODUBLVCK.
Kizz Daniel: Uncle K
After his last album, “Maverick” in 2023, and hit singles like “Twe Twe” and a take of the big cake with his 2024 EP “TZA,” Kizz Daniel teased the release of a project in December 2024 with a video and message which says “Uncle K 2025,” which confirms the official season of the rollout.
With an early tease of the project, it is expected to be released between the first quarter of the year to the middle.
Sarz: Protect Sarz at all cost
From dropping the hit “Happiness” song in 2023 and producing one of the smashing jams of 2024 with “Active,” Sarz revealed that there is more in the store with a post on X in 2024 with the caption saying, “When do you guys want this album?” However, we did not get the album in 2024, but it is confirmed to be released in 2025 with guest artists such as Ayra Starr, Gunna, Big Sean, Asake, and Lojay.
Tiwa Savage: TBA
Quite a lot of speculation on a new album from Tiwa Savage. In 2024, we got a handful of songs from her, such as “100 MILLION,” “Lost Time,” “Forgiveness,” “MEGA MONEY MEGA,” and she also featured on Ruger’s “TOMA TOMA” and Simi’s “Men are Crazy.” Alongside all her singles and features in 2024, Tiwa Savage released a soundtrack album for her movie “Water and Garri,” which features great tracks. We are looking forward to her next studio album in 2025.
Lojay: TBA
The melody lord is actually just holding this album to himself, but not for long. After we saw snippets of him and Pprime cooking a jam in the studio, we already know that he is coming with straight hits on his album. We have not gotten a title yet, but he has been teasing the release. Just around the new year of 2025, Lojay took to his X account to confirm that the album is almost ready and also teased a feature of Odeal on the album, which is absolutely going to be fire. We are eagerly on the lookout for the album.
Skepta: Fork & Knife
We got a title, we got 2025 as the year for Skepta’s 7th album, “Fork & Knife,” but we don’t have a date, but hey, we are optimistic and looking forward to it eagerly. If we take a little trip back to the just-ended year 2024, we would see all the releases Skepta blessed us with, especially “Gas Me Up (Diligent),” which the world needed like forever. He released that, alongside amazing releases, but we did not get the album. We believe it’s all for a good reason, but 2025 is here, and the album is coming, and we are in for it.
Shallipopi: TBA
Since his breakout, Shallipopi has consistently released hit songs. Each year, he has given fans something to jam to, and 2025 seems poised to be another album year. Since his last album, “Shakespopi,” in early 2024, and as we approach the end of the year, Shallipopi has begun to tease a new album expected to be released this year. Speculation abounds regarding guest features, with names like Swae Lee and Burna Boy being mentioned.
