As far as Nigerian street-pop goes, the hit-making baton has been passed to 24- year-old Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, otherwise known in the industry as Bella Shmurda. Bella subconsciously manifested his current reality through Vision 2020; an aptly titled music commentary that bared the interesting struggles of the average Nigerian. Fortified with a powerful verse by Olamide who connected with the narrative on a deep level, Vision 2020 became the driving force of Bella’s successful debut E.P – High Tension.
Bella Shmurda as he is popularly known sprung to Limelight with his hit single “Vision 2020” which caught the attention of Music legend “Olamide” who hopped on the remix, Bella went on to release his first official EP which has done over 70 million streams across all platforms, Bella has been dubbed the new “King Of The Streets” as the people have come to accept his sound and personality, he has gone on to build a cult followership with his outfit called “Dangbana republik”, Dangbana Republik and Bella Shmurda team up to drop a new single titled “Rush” which is sure to be a new people’s favorite.
