Bread Beauty Supply, the hair care brand known for its minimalist aesthetic and focus on textured hair, has been acquired by Cost of Doing Business (CODB) Holdings. The holding company, founded by Olamide Olowe and Sochi Mbadugha, will take over strategic operations while Bread’s founder, Maeva Heim, stays on as Chief Creative Officer.

Since launching in 2020, Bread has made waves with its unique branding and playful product names, securing retail partnerships with Sephora US and later Ulta Beauty. With CODB Holdings at the helm, the brand is set to expand its Sephora footprint and roll out to all Ulta stores nationwide in April.

CODB Holdings is backed by investors such as UK rap duo Krept + Konan and Nigerian businessman Tunde Folawiyo. While CODB is separate from Topicals, the skincare brand Olowe founded, it shares a mission of fostering inclusive beauty brands.
This acquisition marks another step in CODB’s goal of acquiring and growing innovative businesses in the beauty space.
