Brown Ideye Announces Departure from Enyimba After 2024/25 NPFL Season

Former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has officially parted ways with Nigeria Premier Football League side Enyimba FC following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

The 36-year-old joined the Aba-based club in January and scored five goals in 13 appearances across all competitions. Despite his efforts, Enyimba exited early from the CAF Confederation Cup and finished sixth in the NPFL standings, 16 points behind champions Remo Stars.

Ideye announced his departure via a heartfelt post on his official X account, thanking the club’s management, teammates, and fans for their support, and describing his time at the club as “an honour.”

A veteran of several top European and Asian leagues, Ideye’s career includes stints with Dynamo Kyiv, West Brom, Olympiacos, and Málaga. He was also part of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad.
