Charles Nwokolo set to be Inducted into WBC Hall of Fame on June 22

Nigerian boxing legend Charles Nwokolo, fondly known as “Young Dick Tiger,” has expressed immense joy following news of his upcoming induction into the World Boxing Council (WBC) Legends Hall of Fame.

Nwokolo’s storied career includes representing Nigeria at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and winning gold at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. His induction marks a major milestone and a proud moment for Nigerian boxing.

The ceremony, set to take place on June 22 in Los Angeles, will recognize Nwokolo’s outstanding contributions to the sport of boxing both in Nigeria and internationally.

“It’s a dream come true to be recognized among the legends of boxing,” Nwokolo said. “This induction is not just for me but for every Nigerian who has supported me throughout my career.”

The event will celebrate his legacy alongside other greats of the sport.
