Born Elohor Okoloko, Dark Ruby as she is popularly known is a 23-year-old R&B and Afrofusion singer-songwriter and Dancer who hails from Delta State, Nigeria. She is a graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos where she studied Mass Communication. She started writing music and dancing at a tender age of 10 in her church but her music journey commenced professionally in 2019 when she released her debut single “Girl” under her old name “Elohor”. She took a brief break after to develop herself as an artist and then went on to change her name to Dark Ruby. Dark Ruby originated from a dark period in her life. She needed a symbol that could represent her and all that she stands for – passionate, sensual & in tune with her emotions, plus her favorite color is red. Dark Ruby cites Burna Boy, Jhene Aiko, Rihanna, Khal Uchis, and Erykah Badu as her major influences. She recently released her sophomore single “On You” and is currently working on her debut project.
