D’Banj & MTN Reignite “Best of Streets” Talent Hunt Nationwide

The much-anticipated talent search initiative, MTN Best of the Streets, has officially kicked off again, thanks to a partnership between MTN Nigeria and music superstar D’Banj’s C.R.E.A.M.

The program, which relaunched on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, is designed to uncover hidden talents in local communities across Nigeria, giving them a chance to shine on a bigger stage. This year’s edition promises to be even more impactful, with a massive ₦250 million prize pool up for grabs and plans to recognize and reward over 2,500 artists, creators, and entrepreneurs nationwide.

Through their new distribution services and creative grants, they are looking forward to helpings artists monetize their work and reach wider audiences. This year, they are taking the search to the streets, campuses, and neighborhoods to find the very best talents Nigeria has to offer.

The relaunch ceremony, held at the MTN Office in Ikoyi, Lagos, drew a crowd of big names from the music and entertainment industry. Attendees included Chris Anokute, a top music executive known for discovering global stars like Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Muni Long. Also present were producer P.Priime, Matthew Ohio, Dandizzy, and Obi Asika, a key figure in Nigeria’s creative sector.

Throughout the event, speakers and stakeholders highlighted how the MTN Best of the Streets initiative would create opportunities for grassroots talent. Discussions centered on the long-term benefits of the program, including job creation, skill development, and the chance for participants to earn income through content monetization.
