After years of grooming and managing talents from labels and distribution companies, Dowe Biyere has now been recruited into The Orchard as Label Manager, West Africa.

The Orchard, a distribution and artist label service, that’s a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, extended its reach in Africa in 2023, where it’s been hoisting the flags of emerging and exciting music acts, like Patoranking, Lojay, Muis, Mellissa and Winny.

As Label Manager, Biyere will be bringing his knowledge and acumen to the label’s roster of release strategies, distribution channels and regional campaigns. Commenting on his goals, Biyere stated, “My biggest goal will always be to create adequate cultural impact. I want to be able to take Africa to the world and impact the world with African music. I’d love to get African artists a sit at the table with global artists and I believe with the right personnel in The Orchard family, my goals will be successful.”

Before his appointment at The Orchard, Biyere consulted for Kimanni Moore Entertainment as a Marketing manager, where he managed partnerships with the likes of Platoon and Peer music publishing, working with artists like Odunsi, Deto Black, Mowalola and Tochi Bedford in the process. Biyere launched his company, Sygnal Music Ltd, and signed his first artist, Winny, heralding the start of his career in talent management. This resulted in him taking on the role of A&R admin at Chocolate City Music, where he worked closely with Candy Bleakz and TAR1Q, alongside the label’s act roster including Young Jonn and Blaqbonez.

“My experience in developing and managing talents, working with labels and different distribution companies over the years has geared me to be more equipped to manage labels and impact the music industry through The Orchard.”
