Fenerbahce SK is on the verge of completing the signing of Senegalese sensation Amara Diouf on a permanent deal from Generation Foot Academy. The Turkish Club beat multiple European Giants like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to the super-talented teenager’s signature.
Diouf has been exceptional on the books of Generation Foot, starring as they clinched the Mohammed VI under-19s tournament in Morocco, eliminating European giants like Real Madrid en route to their title success. Diouf found the back of the net in their quarter-final tie against Madrid to help the young Senegalese team defeat the young Spaniards.
A regular presence on the international scene for Senegal, at 14, he propelled them to AFCON U-17 glory, marking his early teenage years in grand style. The young winger clinched the Golden Boot with five goals in six games, breaking Victor Osimhen’s record for most goals in a single edition of the U-17 tournament. Osimhen previously held the record with the four goals he scored in 2015. Amara Diouf’s superb performances in the group stage saw him named as the player of the group stage.
Diouf has been called up by Senegal, becoming the youngest debutant for Senegal in history at 15 years and 49 days in 2023. In September 2023, he made his senior debut for the Teranga Lions against Rwanda in an African Cup of Nations Qualifying match, and he came close to scoring on his record-breaking debut.
FC Metz was initially touted as favourites for his signature, and it seemed like it was given till Fenerbahce swooped in to secure his services, pulling a fast one over the most prominent European clubs.

Amara Diouf is one of the best talents to emerge from the African continent in recent years. The 2008-born Diouf has been billed as Sadio Mané’s heir in Senegal. Primarily a left winger, he can play anywhere across the front line. Blessed with blistering pace, his trickery, ability to weave in between defenders, and a strong eye for goal make him a handful for opposition defenders.
An academy graduate of Generation Foot, he is following in the footsteps of compatriots Sadio Mané, Pape Matar Sarr, Papiss Cissé, and Ismaïla Sarr.
