In this age, digital memories are a huge part of our lifestyles and sharing these memories with people on various platforms has become the norm. Sometimes it’s for the social validation, and at other times it’s for the show-off, but I’ll still vote that you should take as many pictures as you can whenever you get to. Here’s five reasons why:
- It’s fun:
Pulling out your phone and recording a video of your friends being goofy has to be top on the list of fun things to do with your homeboys. Ask them the embarrassing questions and watch their faces twist into funny expressions when they realize they’re on camera. It’s a lifestyle.
2. It keeps you up on the dark days:
There are some days when you wish you were Bill Gates or as smart as Einstein but you realize you’re not and your parents didn’t leave you any trust fund. You look into the mirror and the break out on your face makes you look like Shrek. On days like this, just go through your gallery. The more fun videos you’ve created, the more laughter would ring out of your chest.
3. You can always blackmail your friends:
Say no more, just get as many photos of your friends without their usual glam, so when you’ve run out of data, you can just send a threat to them that you’ll release their uninhibited dancing skills to the world. If they threaten to beat you up or actually set leg for you and whoop your ass, you’re on your own sha.
4. Shows you when you were really suffering:
Have you tried going through your photo album when school just resumed and you were a freshman who believed they had all the drip with the ripped carrot jean and oversized shirt? Or the tilted bird feathers wig with really large sunglasses and shiny lipgloss? How would you get all those if you refuse to take pictures all the time?
5. Evidenceeeee:
Scenario: Your flatmate’s boyfriend walks into a bar with a girl that is not your flatmate. And they hold hands and situate themselves in a corner, thinking in their smart minds that they’re hiding?? This is your time to do a Snapchat video with all the time and date stamp. Get in there and make sure the camera is tilted to show all their faces. There you have it, evidence and peace-keeping.
