FRESH TO THE SCENES RAPPER AY HYDRA RELEASES HIS DEBUT EP “6/25”

Pleased to announce to you, on this day, August the 5th, 2020, the release of debut EP – 6/25, by fresh-to-the-music-scenes rapper AY Hydra.

Being a J. Cole baby, storytelling is right up AY Hydra’s alley. Hence the EP, touching on different topics ranging from domestic violence to personal life experiences.

Starting with 6/25, the first song on the track list; after which the entire EP is named. It highlights some of the rapper’s life experiences. A song for his self-healing and finding closure. To help his audience connect with him; a window into his person.

Followed by RnB, SHE SAID, with the Afro fusion type song, FANTASY (vocals – KOEL) right on its tail. He brings in an interlude, ART OF RAP FREESTYLE, before moving on to yet another Afro fusion song, WORKIN’ (featuring KOEL). At the latter end of the EP, AY Hydra decided to include his last two previously released singles, FOLAKE (featuring SEGUN ANIYI) and BROKEN.

Ayooluwa Ajiboye, who goes by the stage name – AY Hydra, is a first-class graduate of Covenant University (Electrical & Electronics Engineering). In-spite of this love for academics, he started music over a year ago.

For something that began as a jovial suggestion, AY Hydra has 4 official releases to his name. The first being Solace (featuring 7th), followed by Walked Away (featuring Segun Aniyi). Both produced by Reverb.

He participated in the Empawa30 competition and recorded the track The Other Guy (T.O.G). With Segun Aniyi as his producer and Ore Olujimi on the visuals. It was whilst he was working on T.O.G the vision for an EP came to him, albeit not fully formed.

Folake was his third official release, produced by Segun Aniyi. And with the whirlwind that was the lockdown, Broken also came into being, produced by Zane 98.

All songs on the EP were mixed and mastered by Segun Aniyi, with a variety of producers – Chike San (tracks 1-3), Eeryskies (track 4), Segun Aniyi (tracks 5 & 6), and Zane 98 (track 7). The cover art was created by Daniel Chiwuzoh.

6/25; the EP is available now across all streaming platforms. Do listen in, repeatedly, till Hydra himself feels effect. And be sure to share across your socials as well.
