Meet KVO. Photographer, creative director, and more recently, music artiste. Basically, all round creative. Here, he talks about how music was something he always loved, but couldn’t venture into because it wasn’t exactly financially rewarding at the time. He also talks about his newest single, Odun, and the concept behind it, and the visuals. Believe it or not, putting equal amounts of energy and attention in three creative fields is tasking, but KVO does it well enough. And he plans to entertain our ears with more music soon enough. Read up.

49th Street: Can you briefly introduce KVO to us?

KVO: KVO is a simple hard-working guy, that loves music and loves to enjoy life.

49th Street: Before venturing into music, you were into photography and creative direction, when did you know you had to do music?

KVO: I pretty much have known I loved music and people’s attention would eventually circle back to it. My passion for photography and cinematography just happened to help ends meet faster, that’s why it seems like it was my first choice but I’ve always had my music.

49th Street: A lot of people go into music for myriad reasons, why did you choose music? To express yourself in yet another creative way?

KVO: Sounds like a cliche but that’s the simple answer, I have experiences I love to share with the world, and I have my voice.

49th Street: You recently released Odun. What is the concept behind it?

KVO: Well, like I said, I love to share experiences – and that’s just one of the experiences I’ve had with a lady. I really craved what we shared but she just wasn’t into guys with my account balance then.

49th Street: Did you shoot the video yourself?

KVO: Well, technically speaking, I couldn’t follow myself around with a camera, I probably would If it was possible, lol. I work with some of the best guys so I had absolutely no problem directing the video

49th Street: So, all round creative. How’s it going? Do you sometimes feel like you are not putting enough time into one craft, or do all fields get equal time from you?

KVO: It’s never easy to manage your time but I’ve seen that the more thought and effort you put into it, the better you get at it. I’m at a comfortable point right now but I feel like I’ll get even better with time and more effort

49th Street: How has the reception for Odun been?

KVO: So far, I’ve loved it. It’s a great feeling to know how much people actually relate to my experience. I have way more to share and I just hope more people get to hear my stories.

49th Street: Do you have plans of releasing a full body of work soon?

KVO: To be honest, I have enough music to make for 2 full albums right now. But I’ll just ride the wave for now and let my listeners decide what they want.

49th Street: What more should we expect from KVO?

KVO: Expect more creativity, more mood-altering music, well thought out videos. Basically, just expect to be entertained.

49th Street: Do you have any words for people who avidly listen to your music?

KVO: Thanks for listening and understanding me, it’s never easy putting yourself out there so I really appreciate the acceptance. Let’s go o this journey together and please, please, and please put your friends, loved ones, and even acquaintances on this train with us.
