Into The life of the Artiste – HBee

On this new episode of Into the Life of the Artiste, we talk to the budding Hbee, who just dropped the new video for his record, Special. With 16k views so far, the sky is the starting point for the young act. We discuss on Hbee’s identity as an artist, his feelings on his new record and his plans for the future.

49thStreet: Can you please introduce us to the artiste Hbee?

HBee: My name is Jackson Ekene Mba. I’m an independent Afrobeats artist.

49thStreet: Why did you make the decision to venture into music?

HBee: Music has always been my passion; it’s what gives me joy. This has always been the path I was meant to be on.

49thStreet: How has the music journey been?

Hbee: it’s been fun, a little bit rough. It’s been an adventure for sure. I’ve discovered that although I have a lot of passion for it, there are still things I have to learn about music. All in all, it’s been a good run so far.

49thStreet: You made quite the ruckus with your single ‘Ejo’ in 2019. How did that happen?

Hbee: Honestly, it’s just been the grace of God. Hard work definitely, and a lot of patience came into play. And I believe that good music was a major factor too.

49thStreet: It’s been exactly a year since you released your debut EP, Wickedest Vibes. How has the reception been?

Hbee: It’s been amazing. I gained more fans and it opened more doors for me in the industry. It’s been a wonderful run.

49thStreet: Why did you choose Special as the single to follow after the EP?

Hbee: Special is an amazing song, it has good lyrics, nice melody, that makes it easy to learn. It was a no-brainer to choose it.

49thStreet: You just released the video for Special, what is the concept for it?

Hbee: I was going for a old school highlife love concept. Something that fit in nicely with the song and I’m glad it came out the way I envisioned.

49thStreet: The reception has been very good even though it’s only been 2 days. How does that make you feel?

Hbee: I feel so blessed and happy. It’s been a wild ride and all I can say is ‘wow’ because that encompasses all my emotions.

49thStreet: What’s your vision for Hbee as an artiste?

Hbee: The vision for the brand is to go global and reachacross every part of the world. I want my music to touch every corner and touch lives in a positive way.

49thStreet: Would you like to say anything to your fans?

Hbee: God bless all my fans. I love them so much, their support is the reason I’ve come this far and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m going to get bigger and better and you will not regret supporting Hbee.

49thStreet: What should we expect next from Hbee?

Hbee: There’s a whole lot you can expect from Hbee. I have plenty projects in the works and it’s going to be an enjoyable journey. In time, it’s going to unfold and you won’t be disappointed.
