Kano Pillars Football Club, one of Nigeria’s most successful football clubs, has signed a partnership deal worth N100 million with Radio France Internationale (RFI) Hausa, an international radio station. The deal, announced on July 17, 2025, comes at a pivotal moment for the club, which finished ninth in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season. This collaboration includes cash, equipment, and services aimed at boosting the club’s development and enhancing its media visibility.
The partnership breaks down into N45 million in cash and N55 million in equipment and services. The equipment provided includes digital media tools such as cameras and computers, designed to elevate the club’s media production capabilities. Additionally, RFI will provide monthly media training sessions for Kano Pillars’ media team, equipping them with the skills to create high-quality content.
As a key component of the agreement, RFI will sponsor Kano Pillars’ kits for the upcoming season, marking its first-ever football sponsorship. The RFI logo will be prominently displayed on the club’s home, away, and alternate kits, as well as on official team branding and promotional materials, extending the partnership’s reach across all categories of the club, including the senior team, second team, Junior Pillars, and youth teams.
Ahmed Musa, General Manager of Kano Pillars and former Super Eagles captain, hailed the partnership as a “major step forward” for the club. “This is a proud moment for Kano Pillars. We are happy to welcome RFI Hausa into the Kano Pillars family,” he said. Joseph Pelly, Nigeria Coordinator of RFI Hausa, emphasized the broader goals of the collaboration: “The partnership goes beyond putting a logo on the jersey. It’s about supporting the club’s heritage and helping it grow,” he stated.
This one-year partnership is expected to provide Kano Pillars with vital resources to strengthen its media presence and branding, potentially paving the way for increased visibility and growth on both national and international stages.
