Rising singer-songwriter Khevna makes her powerful entry into the Afro-pop scene with her new single, Lonely. The genre-blending track masterfully fuses emotive vulnerability with an irresistible rhythm, exploring the aching honesty of a love on the edge where passion and distance meet.
Switching seamlessly between Hindi and English, Lonely combines Afro-inspired grooves with soulful melodies to create a fresh and globally rooted sound. Khevna‘s smooth, expressive vocals glide over the production, reflecting both strength and softness, and are poised to resonate deeply with listeners navigating the complexities of love, longing, and emotional duality.
Lonely was born out of a chaotic songwriting camp, the kind where ideas fly fast and emotions run high,” says Khevna. “Between the noise and the late-night jams, this song just found me. Weaving Hindi into an Afro-pop rhythm felt instinctive, like a bridge between who I am and the sound I wanted to explore.”

With her roots in India and her creative base in Lagos, Khevna embodies a unique artistic identity that bridges continents and cultures. Her sonic palette, which spans R&B, soul, and Afrobeat, results in a track that is both deeply personal and effortlessly danceable emotional yet vibrant.
Since her debut single Faasle in 2023, Khevna has expanded her discography with singles like Kaise Kiya, Pehli Baar, and Saari Saar Raat, fleshing out her unique, genre-fluid sound. Her venture into Afropop was catalyzed by visits to Lagos, collaborations with Nigerian artists, and a bootcamp in December 2023. Lonely is the direct product of this endeavor, transmuting longing and liberation over a sultry beat.
The beauty of Khevna‘s music lies in its ability to transcend cultural barriers with an easy vulnerability that bridges worlds. Whether it’s soft indie rock or pulsating Afropop, Khevna makes her home in the sound and, in doing so, invites her listeners to do the same.
