It is said that the best works of fiction are those built on an element of truth, likewise the best of songs and on this precept lies Kona’s debut single, Wanbi which is an euphonic message done up in Afroswing to his French belle in earnest for her to overlook the racial differences and fall into his arms for the summer.
Laid over soft piano keys and laidback beats, wanbi sees Kona take on the persona of a well worded smooth operator with melodic flows in French, Yoruba and English to prove to his love interest from the other side of the world with his warm blue hued melodies, that verbal language is secondary when love happens.
A prolific act with leanings towards Afrobeats, Afroswing and RnB, Kona’s first official foray into the world as a musical artist was spurred by the realisation of his multi facetedness and given additional momentum this summer by the biggest source of inspiration known to man; love.
