Lisa Yaro easily wears the outlook of a black superstar. With eyes as captivating as her vocals, and a blend of both American and Nigerian cultures, Lisa is ready to own the global stage with her prowess and this is evident in ‘My Way’.

The EP has six tracks and is the resplendent product of a perfect upbeat blend of the African five-pattern beat rhythm and R&B. Its release was led by ‘Savage’, a vibrant party anthem released earlier in May 2023. In ‘Savage’ Lisa unmasked how much energy she could exude in a record, and it plays out as well in the performance of most songs on ‘My Way’.

Preceding her debut project, Lisa has always been known for her magical songwriting; having collaborated with renowned names like Will.I.AmLeToya Luckett and Mya on the Grammy-nominated project ‘Smoove Jones’ in the Best R&B Album category. And in a bid to tap into even more markets, Lisa has employed some elements of African pop music and Nigerian fusions into some songs off ‘My Way’.

As an independent solo artiste, Lisa Yaro doesn’t seem to be slowing down when it comes to breaking new grounds in the entertainment industry, as her music continues to air on essential media including New York’s Hot97SoundCity and Cool FM; the latter two based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Moreover, her hard work and resilience is evident in how she has been internationally recognized while performing at the 2022 AFRIMMA Awards in Dallas, Texas; owning the stage and stealing the hearts of her audience with oomph storytelling.

Lisa’s music can only be described as uber-creative and appropriately melodic. Some of her recent singles include ‘Yaro’ – which features Nigerian street pop artiste, Zlatan – and ‘Biko’ – a record that fits all seasons.

Most media outlets including BET Jams, Revolt TV and BET show have described her music as “a unique reflection of her cultural heritage…” or something really close to that, courtesy of The Knockturnal music blog.

At the end of the day, above everything else, Lisa Yaro is definitely here to stay and ‘My Way’ is the stone that both kills the bird of showcasing how incredibly talented she is, and that of cementing her place in the music industry at a global level.
