The Super Eagles of Nigeria have seen an increase in their ranking in the latest FIFA rankings, moving to 43rd on the global rankings. The Super Eagles rounded off 2024 in the 44th position, following an abysmal run of form.
The Super Eagles have seen an improvement in form recently, picking up a win and a draw against Rwanda and Zimbabwe respectively in their World Cup qualifying fixtures, resulting in a slight increase on the rankings. They are the sixth ranked team in the African continent.
Morocco moved up two spots, maintaining its status as the highest-ranked African team, and it is now the 12th-ranked team globally. Senegal is now ranked 19th globally. Egypt is ranked 32nd globally, Algeria is 36th, and Cote d’Ivoire is 41st. These three countries join Morocco and Senegal as the top five ranked teams on the African continent.
Cameroon and Mali saw a decrease in their rankings, dropping to 50th and 53rd, respectively, while South Africa climbed up to 56th. Guinea Bissau had the largest decrease globally, dropping seven positions to 128th.
