Nigeria’s D’Tigress have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket after a hard-fought 60–55 victory over Mozambique in their final Group D match held in Abidjan.

The defending champions started slowly, trailing 28–24 at halftime. Mozambique claimed the first quarter 13–9 and held Nigeria to a tie in the second, but the D’Tigress came alive in the second half. They outscored Mozambique 18–15 in the third quarter and sealed the win with an 18–12 edge in the final period.
Ezinne Kalu led the way for Nigeria with 16 points and four assists. Promise Amukamara added 13 points and six rebounds, while Murjanatu Musa recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
With this win, Nigeria tops Group D and remains unbeaten in the tournament. The D’Tigress are now one step closer to claiming a historic sixth AfroBasket title as they await their quarter-final opponent.
