If you’re a lover of jeans and their customization, then OmegaTeam is definitely for you. This streetwear fashion brand, located in Toronto, Ontario, is quickly becoming one of the best to go to work with denim. Omega takes your usual everyday jeans and turns them into a starry, exciting, refined piece of custom design.
The creation process is tedious but enjoyable, as described by the creator. The process consists of deconstructing a good pair of denim pants, destroying it by bleaching and distressing. Then reconstructing the pants with dye, paint and rhinestones.
This takes an excruciating amount of time, work and effort. However, it is evident in the high quality of the outcome. The jeans are made of standard fabric with remarkable visual appeal and an immense show of creativity. It displays how far you can go with lacing your vision into your work.
It would be unfair to talk about how thrilling this brand is, without speaking of the creator and overall creative executive, Feroh. Feroh is from Lagos, Nigeria. He recently just turned 20 but has been designing since he was 18. Furthermore, he had always loved fashion and was constantly paying attention to new drops or trends. Then he progressed to drawing designs in his notebooks. Those drawings evolved into what we know as Omega today.
Asides from Omega and its creator, there is a loyal team helping out behind the scenes; Anthony Okah, Tomiwa Adesanya and Ayiri Brikinn. These three assist Feroh in making the jeans and helping to execute his creative vision. Loyal and efficient people are always a great addition to innovation.
Feroh acknowledges the fact that his culture has made an impact on his creative vision. In addition, he says having an open mind and perspective are the keys to understanding his work. Whatever he’s doing must be working because Omega already has an enormous following within the Greater Toronto Area; as the clothing drops get sold out almost immediately.
Jeans are not the only thing OmegaTeam makes. They also make Men’s jackets, Women’s Denim jackets and trucker hats. So, if you want to see more from OmegaTeam, head to their website: omegateam.ca. We at the 49th are delighted to see what’s coming next from OmegaTeam!
