#RetroTunesThursday

49th

Between 2012 and 2014, there was a noticable shift in the music being released in the Nigerian music industry; the quality got better, the reception was wider, the songs travelled farther, the growth was inevitable. But the period of 2012 and 2014, some songs were released and they didn’t quite get the attention they deserved. So for today’s #RetroTunesThursday will be listing some of these songs. What other songs do you think people slept on between 2012 and 2014? Drop a comment.

Jumar – Satisfy You: What could go wrong on an Afro-House track produced by Shadybizniz filled with heavenly vocals and good lyrics? Absolutely nothing! This song is nothing short of magic.

ThreeWiseMen – Bastard: The ThreeWiseMen was a group formed in 2011. It was made up of super producer Ikon and Blackmagic, (Xela used to be a member of the group). Bastard is a beautiful, timeless and groovy tune laced with conscious lyrics that captures the daily struggles of an average Nigerian. Bastard was dropped off Bastard Resurrection, an EP that was never released.

Blink ft Lynxxx – Of Life: Syndik8 records had wonderful rappers and Blink is nothing short of that. On this Ikon produced jam, Blink and Lynxxx joined forces to create an athem!

Prince Boom ft Sean Tizzle – Your Body: Producer Prince Boom features Sean Tizzle on this banging track. No long talks, you already once Sean Tizzle is on it, it has to slap hard.

Olamide ft Lynxxx and Ajebutter 22 – Jogodo: This was a suprise collabo nobody saw coming. Stepping out of his norm; Baddo delivers on a trap beat. Lynxxx came through with his lines, Ajebutter did what he’s known best for; eating beats for fun.

Flowssick – Ko si iro: Flowssick brought his A-game on this TY Mix produced track. It’s one that’s sure to get you on your feet and dance.

Efa ft Praiz:  Over You: EFA has a string of runs and this song is just something beautiful; though it is a break up song. Praiz with an amazing hook, EFA with the bars, nothing else can go wrong.
