Sofie connects with Matthew James Hemmer on New Song “Distance”

Multinational singer-songwriter of Ghanaian, German, and American descent, Sofie enlists Matthew James Hemmer for a sentimental R&B duet titled “Distance”.

This happens to be the singer’s sophomore single release of the calendar year following April’s “Blur”.

Although both records are smooth R&B numbers, their tones are in stark contrast. Whereas “Blur” captures the electrifying giddy feeling of new love, “Distance” describes how alienating it is when physical or emotional distance causes tension in a relationship and the consequences.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Sofie quipped: “The feeling of wanting to be close to your significant other is something we have all experienced, Matthew and I embody that beautifully on this record.”
