Spotlight Monday: CtrlT

Control T – stylized as CtrlT – is a Nigerian born and Atlanta-based Afro-fusion artiste with a fast-rising profile. Born Samuel Oloruntoby Oginni, he found his passion for music in his early years in Lagos, where he would perform at small events in his secondary school, church and even the talent show “God’s Children Great Talent”. He left the country after completing his tertiary education to settle in the US from where he now shares his gift of music making with the world.

2020 was a very busy and productive here for him as he churned out 5 singles to positive reception. The streak started with “Eyele”, a Ransom On The Beat produced Afro-fusion track. “Door”, “Star”, “Can Do” followed in relatively quick succession before he rounded up his run for the year with “Calling”. All five songs helped showcase his good voice and interesting style with lyrics featuring a lot storytelling.

He started off his musical year on February 11 with the release of “Hold On” where he croons about reaching out to a lady and fighting for her love. The song is yet another testament to CtrlT’s talent and is yet another reason to get in his wave.
