Born Jason Herman Bortei- Doku Herman Suede was born on 21st November 2002. The 17-year-old has honed his music abilities to meet the demands of the competitive music market.
Herman Suede, the young Ghanaian musician, composer, and songwriter, discovered his talent for music when he was five years old where he started studying classical music on the piano and took formal music lessons.
Young Herman is very comfortable with and continues to explore varying genres of music. He remains versatile with his compositions stretching across a vast array of urban genres. He composes his music based on situations that go on around him mostly do with the typical lives of teenagers whether it be puppy love or life’s challenges.
Herman fingers Drake, Maleek Berry, Sarkodie, M.anifest, King Promise, Stonebwoy, Wizkid, Davido, Mr. Eazi, Burna Boy and Joey Badass as his biggest musical inspirations.
Making a good first impression with his debut single “Be Mine” some three years ago, the teenage prodigy has not looked back since.
Last year was undoubtedly his best year yet as he successfully outdoored his 6-track debut EP “Hi I’m Herman” to raving reviews; was featured on African rap superstar Sarkodie’s “Womba” off his critically acclaimed “Black Love” album, and headlined his first concert dubbed “After Prep” – being the youngest Ghanaian act to ever do so!
With a string of single releases out this year, the young artiste looks to keep up the momentum.
