Damilola Afolabi, known professionally as L.A.X is an artiste and record label owner that’s not new to anyone familiar with the Nigerian music scene. The singer and songwriter is in his 8th year in the game and key to that longevity is his habit of dropping radio hits and club bangers. That pattern started with the release of “Caro” in 2013 after which he dropped a few more before departing Starboy Entertainment. Stepping away from Wizkid’s shadow did L.A.X no harm; he started his own record label and has since continued putting out good music under his imprint.

On Thursday November 26th he released ZaZa Vibes, a 12-track project which constitutes his second studio album. The album features the likes of Peruzzi, Tekno and Tiwa Savage – and backed by the distribution deal he recently signed with American company EMPIRE – is currently racking up a heavy number of streams. And why wouldn’t it? The Afro-fusion sounds are infectious from top to bottom, making it easy to resonate with listeners everywhere.

L.A.X has made his presence very much felt at home, the next step will surely be to join the host of Nigerian artiste gaining international relevance and ZaZa Vibes is definitely a worthy way to start that process.
