49th

written by Reuben Adewale

With numerous talents and artists in the music landscape in Nigeria, with different sounds, Nelsane comes with a special blend of juice for music lovers, blessing listeners with a mix of Afrobeats, R&B, pop, and alte, with heavy inspiration from artists who have shaped these genres, such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, Drake, Bryson Tiller and more.

His journey with music, in a professional approach, was quite surprising, from pursuing a career in Mechanical engineering to finding his flow in music, which was out of the blue. This led to the release of his debut single in 2020, titled ‘Desire’, a track where he expresses his love and feelings for a girl, the one his heart yearns for.

In this song, his voice blends perfectly with the beat, leaving listeners to enjoy the Afro/R&B feel that comes with it. He has been consistent ever since, with Nelsane releasing ‘On My Mind’, ‘Doing Me’ and ‘Doubt Me’, which brought attention to him, leading him to perform at the popular Trace Campus tour ’23’ and also getting to perform the track live on the popular Glitch Africa Session platform, where Nelsane showcased his sparkling vocals.

‘Another Try’ served as Nelsane’s last track for 2023, which led up to his new single for 2024, titled ‘Odeshi’, a track where he expressed how his lover blocks the love he is sending to her. He expressed this using the popular word among Nigerians – ‘Odeshi’, which means to block something. However, Nelsane expressed on this track to his lover not to ignore his love, because he is more than ready to change his ways in sight for her compassion.

Nelsane’s discography covers in-depth and detailed storytelling on love, feelings, and affection, something many listeners can relate to. He is not afraid to share his story and experience through melodic ways and tunes, in a heartfelt way that resonates.

With an amazing run with a soundful music catalogue, Nelsane has delivered songs that are relatable and true to him; it would be great for him to bless the world with his debut project.
