Spotlight Monday; NYRP

by Reuben Adewale

It takes a lot of self-belief and trust in one’s ability to realize that one is not as regular as others in a particular lane. That is who NYRP is—a producer, instrumentalist, and songwriter whose name stands for “Not Your Regular Producer.”

In his quest not to be a regular producer, NYRP has sharpened his skills with sounds since he was younger. From experiencing different instrumentals in the church, starting with the drums, which made him no stranger to creating unique beats, to the piano, which played a unique role in making his production melodic, and a bit of bass guitar, all these encounters with musical instruments built him into who he is today.

With a passion for creating beautiful sounds, NYRP took his skills to the next level by attending the Future Insiders Program hosted by YouTube Music and The Sarz Academy. This program has produced many of the amazing producers we hear today.

Since launching his career, NYRP has collaborated with numerous artists, crafting some of the best music out there. His production contributions include work with the music distribution company powering African stars, Ejoya class of ’22 and ’23, alongside MBA (Music Business for Africa) projects “People Street” and “Fuel & Flames.” You would have also heard from him on YKB’s “Yusful Music Reloaded,” Candy Bleakz’s “Better Days,” Lemon Vinyl’s “If Life Gives You Lemons,” Yung Ace’s “Pawn,” DJ Michel’s “24 Groove,” Kold AF & Aema’s “Everyday EP,” including the most recent work with LAX, Ayo Maff & Taves on “Let Me Know”.

With his unique sound and relentless drive, NYRP continues to push the boundaries of music production, proving that he truly is “Not Your Regular Producer.”
