Nigerian superstar and Grammy Award Winner Tems has unveiled an exciting new program called The Leading Vibe Initiative, created specifically to support and uplift young African women pursuing careers in music. The Grammy-winning artist’s passion project aims to provide crucial resources, training and networking opportunities for female artists, producers and songwriters across the continent.

The initiative kicked off with great success in Lagos on August 8-9, hosting 20 talented participants for an immersive two-day experience. Attendees gained valuable insights through hands-on workshops, panel discussions with industry leaders, and intimate mentoring sessions. Top music professionals including renowned producers and major label executives shared practical advice on songwriting, production techniques, and navigating the business side of the industry.
“I remember how challenging it was when I first started out, having to figure everything out on my own,” Tems shared during the Lagos event. “With this initiative, we want to create opportunities and make the journey easier for the next generation of talented women in music.”

Following the successful Lagos debut, The Leading Vibe Initiative will expand to Kenya, with applications currently open until August 30. The program represents Tems’ long-term commitment to fostering female talent, with plans to establish a growing network of support across multiple African countries.
Supported by partners including Native Instruments and Hennessy, the initiative provides participants with access to professional tools, mentorship from established artists, and a supportive community of like-minded creatives.
