Tha Beatsmith Shares Debut Album ‘Youth Was My Excuse’

Multi-genre music producer Tha Beatsmith has released his debut album, Youth Was My Excuse (YWME), and it’s now available on digital music platforms worldwide. This project comes after collaborating with artistes, Pekeys, and Rotex on Motor last year.

YNME is a 9-track masterpiece about infatuation, living it up, and the principles of life. The sensational album sees Tha Beatsmith sing in English and Yoruba while delivering an orchestra of sounds and melodies.

In 2021, the Lagos native collaborated with Afro-soul singer Ogranya on Vanity EP, an enriched alternative body of work. He also has a production credit on Hip-Hop rapper, Vector’s TESLIM for producing the first track on the album, Teslim Introduction. Another of his notable productions is Deena Ade’s Better which received a Headies Nomination for ‘Best Alternative Song’ in 2020.

Born Adetdotun Wale-Adeduro, Tha Beatsmith makes music that is a meld of different genres, including Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, and RnB. He understands the fusion of different genres, sounds, and relatable human-angle stories, which incites a surreal experience.
