Boj – 12 Summers (Album)
Right in the summertime, Boj gathers the Avengers for his fourth studio album, ‘12 Summers.‘ The album features stars such as Adekunle Gold, Oxlade, ODUMODUBLVCK, Blaqbonez, Cruel Santino, Victony, and more. The body of work serves as a celebration of his music journey since he entered the game 12 years ago, hence the title ‘12 Summers.‘ As quoted from his tweet ahead of the release, Boj said, “YOUNG OG 12 YEARS IS NOT BEANS.”
Tekno – Gon Gon/No Forget
Tekno comes through with a new two-pack single ‘Gon Gon/No Forget.’ In ‘Gon Gon,’ Tekno confesses how he caught feelings for a lady out of the blue. He is now deeply in love with her and wants to be her one and only. ‘Gon Gon‘ is a beautiful love song that flows into the second track, ‘No Forget,’ a song where Tekno talks about how his lover reminds him not to forget all they have been through. The two-pack single is a smooth blend of melody about love and feelings.
Yemi Alade – Rebel Queen (Album)
One of the most beautiful voices in Nigeria’s music scene belongs to Yemi Alade, and with the release of her 10th musical body of work, you know you’re in for a vibrant, colourful tune album that will resonate deeply with your ears. She didn’t just deliver Afrobeats on her new album ‘Rebel Queen,’ but also gave us a blend of Afrobeat, Rumba, Highlife, Dance, and Reggae/Dancehall. Guest features come from some of the finest artists on earth who have shaped these genres, like Angélique Kidjo on ‘African Woman‘ and Ziggy Marley on ‘Peace & Love.’
Llona – Homeless (Album)
Fast-rising singer and songwriter Llona shares his debut album ‘Homeless. After dropping his viral hit song ‘HBP,’ the Afropop sensation is keen on letting his listeners into his world of conscious music. With tracks like ‘Another Day,’ ‘Cold War,’ and ‘Comforter,’ the 12-tracked project is a blend of somber lyrics and melodies fueled by themes of mental health, the struggles of the young Nigerian, and the journey of healing. It features verses from Fave, Wizard Chan, and Bella Shmurda.
Khaid – 444 (EP)
Returning to the music world is Afrobeats artiste Khaid with his third EP ‘444.’ Having previously released hit songs like ‘Anabella’ and ‘Carry Me Go‘ featuring Mavin signee Boy Spyce, the ‘Jolie‘ crooner comes with a short project featuring legendary rapper and Afrobeats artiste Olamide. On ‘444,’ Khaid plays with the trap genre on ‘I Don’t Wanna Die,’ as well as Highlife and Afro-piano on ‘Letter From My Bro,’ and ‘Way Back‘ respectively.
ODUMODUBLVCK – NOT ALL THAT
Known for his Okporoko-style of music, popularly acclaimed Street-hop act, ODUMODUBLVCK drops his latest single ‘NOT ALL THAT‘ –an ode to his haters. Big Kala knows his worth, and he’s not keeping quiet about it, as he bounces on this drill music track while name-dropping popular artistes who have given him co-signs. On the Cross-produced song, ODUMODUBLVCK delivers braggadocious lyrics depicting his versatility, ingenious artistry, and achievements. Odumodu is definitely here to show his workings!
Show Dem Camp ft The Caveman & Nsikak David – Johni
Alté trailblazers and rap duo Show Dem Camp are back with another single, ‘Johni,’ featuring The Caveman and Nsikak David. This track is part of the buildup to their forthcoming album ‘No Love in Lagos.’ ‘Johni’ sees each artiste exhibiting unique strengths of lyricism, soulful melody, and harmonies blending Hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeats.
Blxckie – See U Soon (Album)
Sihle Sithole, professionally known as Blxckie, drops his highly anticipated album, ‘See U Soon.’ With the success of hit singles such as ‘Hold‘ and ‘Baby Jackson,’ the South African superstar adds to his discography with ‘See U Soon,’ an 8-tracked body of work boasting trap and Hip-hop elements, with assists from guest artistes like K1llbrady and Beau Nox.
