Ema Onigah headlines this week's New Music Friday

THE NEW MUSIC FRIDAY LIST

This week’s New Music Friday gets entries from Jaido P, Psycho YP, Ema Onigah, Portable, and more. Here are the latest songs from the week.

Jaido P & Bad Boy Timz – Yemi My Lover

The Italawa and Tesina Pot singer, Jaido P, teams up with the very bad guy, Bad Boy Timz, to create a love song. Both artists talk about how their love interest turned them into Yemi My Lover, which also serves as the title of the song. With Bad Boy Timz on the chorus, Jaido P delivers a nice verse as they express themselves on the pressing love issue.

Psycho YP – VIOLATION

In VIOLATION, YP sends a warning to anyone who wants to test him, quoting that he will smoke any opponent like he smokes his loud. He also compares the way he lives and his big toy ’45’ to that of an army. The two-minute drill song displays the heat you get when you violate YP and what you get in return.

Magixx – Bad Decisions & Foreplay

The beats on Magixx’s new single Bad Decisions & Foreplay already tell you what you’re about to hear. On Bad Decisions & Foreplay  he sings about the way he thinks about this particular girl, her skin tone, and rings it in her ears that she’s for him. He describes all the fun they would have together as lovers, confessing that she’s the only one he wants on this whole planet. This song is perfect for individuals who have fallen deeply in love, as intimacy rings all around it.

Jeriq & Bella Shmurda – Jehovah

Ahead of his sophomore album titled King, Jeriq joins forces with Bella Shmurda on the track Jehovah, a lead single to the album. On this song, both artists talk about life as stars, how they have overcome obstacles on their journey, and how God has always guided and directed their paths. They also discuss how Jehovah has changed their lives, like one changes a cloth, and the love they’re getting right now as superstars. This collaboration serves as a reflective track on their musical journey, giving all thanks to Jehovah.

KiDi ft Black Sherif – Lomo Lomo

After making two appearances this year, Ghanaian singer and songwriter KiDi revisits the year with a new single, Lomo Lomo. And this time, he teams up with award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Black Sherif. Sonically constructed by Ugly, and Tough, KiDi plays with Afrobeats and a sprinkle of highlife, to deliver charming vocals on the love-themed song, with the assistance of melodic verses from Black Sherif.

Portable – Kogberegbe EP

After securing an international hit song with Skepta, street-pop artiste Portable is back with his second EP for the year, Kogberegbe. The Tony Tony Montana crooner has been on the run with back-to-back releases and guest appearances, and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping. Kogberegbe EP features other artistes like Lexxie, Ife Daniels, and Maxx Kid amongst others, giving back to back street bops.

Ema Onigah – Ave Maria

Following the success of his debut EP, Dust Off, fast-rising artiste Ema Onigah makes his first appearance for the year with his latest single, Ave Maria. On the track, Ema Onigah captures listeners with his heartfelt narrative of his muse, Maria, delivering melodies and frenetic verses of his admiration for Maria.

Gimba – Only U

Singer, songwriter, and producer Gimba makes a grand entrance into the year with his first single, “Only U.” The Surulere-bred artiste delivers sensual melodies and verses on the Oddwave-produced down-tempo track, serenading his muse into his emotive wave.

Famous Bobson – Ghana

Three years since his last release, Famous Bobson returns to the industry with a brand new single, “Ghana”. Known for his alté and Afro-pop tunes, the Nigerian artiste stuns his listeners on this mid-tempo track produced by Ramoni, connecting the dots between a woman’s backside and the West African country, Ghana using his melodic verses.

These and other new tracks for the week are available on our New Music Friday playlist, Friday on the 49th Street, below:
