Tolu Coker and Torishéju Dumi have been named finalists for the prestigious 2025 LVMH Prize for Young Designers. This recognition highlights their exceptional talent and the growing influence of African designers on the global fashion stage.
The LVMH Prize, established to honor and support emerging fashion designers, announced its eight finalists following presentations during Paris Fashion Week.

Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior, praised the finalists’ diverse backgrounds and creative visions, noting their expertise in tailoring and craftsmanship. She stated, “They each displayed an inspiring level of expertise in tailoring and craftsmanship, as well as great refinement.”

Based in the UK, Tolu Coker is renowned for integrating themes of identity and heritage into her womenswear designs. Her collections often explore migration, race, and cultural storytelling, utilizing hand-dyed fabrics and upcycled materials. Coker’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity aims to redefine luxury fashion. Her work has garnered attention from celebrities like Tems and Doechii.

Torishéju Dumi, the creative force behind the UK-based brand Torishéju, is celebrated for her sculptural and avant-garde designs that blend menswear and womenswear elements. Her Nigerian-Brazilian heritage, along with themes of religion and spirituality, deeply influences her work. Dumi’s designs have been showcased by notable figures, including Zendaya, during the Dune: Part Two photocall.

The final of the LVMH Prize is scheduled to take place at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris on September 3. Winners of the Grand Prize, the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, and the Savoir-Faire Prize will be selected by a distinguished jury comprising notable designers and LVMH executives, including the creative directors of Louis Vuitton, Dior, Loewe, Celine, and other major houses within the group. The winners will receive financial support and mentorship to help grow their brands on an international scale.
