Rema – Calm Down

It’s almost like everyone has it out for songs longer than three minutes, these days. But no, not Rema’s Calm Down. This amazing banger has a grand running time of three minutes, forty seconds, and through all of that time, it’s beautiful melodies. No one seems to care that is that long. The melodies, the back up vocals, all beautiful. Rema was literally floating on this Andre Vibes production, and it is the perfect song to put out as we wait for his debut studio album “Rave and Roses”

Fireboy DML – Peru Remix ft 21 Savage, Blxst

There’s been so much talk about this remix, and I think people need to understand that this is a strategic drop. A song that is gradually becoming a worldwide phenomenon can do with verses from some of America’s big hittas. Blxst has scored a number of top verses since he’s come on and 21 Savage is 21 Savage, they don’t come bigger than that. But one thing you’re not going to do is toss this in the bin, because that Blxst verse? Slaps like a petulant grandparent.

Tim Lyre – Hubris ft Lex Amor

Tim Lyre is without an iota of doubt, top three most versatile artiste out of Nigeria. This hill, I am willing to die on. It is no secret that i am a very big fan of his music. This new drop with Lex Amor is absolutely amazing, it is beautiful. Not a lot of people are touching Tim’s pen game. Can’t wait for his upcoming album “Worry”

Leo Gbola – Afro Gimmix Vol. 1 EP

Stumbled on this tape and for a debut tape, I think it’s fair work. It is on this list because I want you guys to go listen. With six records, Leo has put it all on the table. I want to listen to a sophomore tape and see how far he can come.

Basketmouth – Horoscopes Album

Early contender for album of the year (just like it’s predecessor “Yabasi”). Basketmouth and Duktorsett have found a way to make this music thing work. Amazing A&R work on this project, it’s beautiful music. Bar one or two average verses, every other thing on this project was tailored to perfection. The opening record is insanely good. Johnny Drille, Simi and MI Abaga on a record? You must be terrible to fumble that one. There’s literally about five standout songs, which is such an amazing return from a 9 track album. Good work Basketmouth.
